Bourjois Haul

Hey Guys,
As promised I have started to get out of my "Mac rut" and explore new options :)
I decided to pick up some Bourjois products after seeing some reviews from the PixiWoo sisters and then researched further to see that they are quite loved. Once I found out that the the company was owned by Chanel and that some of the products were manufactured in the same facility I went straight out and picked up these goodies :)

Firstly, I picked up this baked eyeshadow in number 74, this product packs a punch! great pigmentation and am really happy with the purchase (please see down for swatches), one thing I will recommend is tapping the brush off before applying to the eye as there can be fallout. The colour is a dark brown with purple undertones.

Next up, baked eyeshadow in number 54.
This product also has great pigmentation! a beautiful golden olive, with a hint of red to darken, very minor! this is on the darker spectrum of gold. A very wearable everyday colour. You could use this in the crease or all over the lid.

Finally, I picked up this trio in number 5 (rose vintage), this was the only product that had an actual name that I could find. The top colour (the lightest) was a major disappointment for me! I had to take a chunk off to get any real pay off and even then the product looks chalky. The swatch below was after 3 attempts all piled on top of one another. The second shade was much the same hard to apply without much pay off.
The third shade, however was beautiful! much like the other two products I purchased a beautiful plummy colour.
I am quite disappointed in this trio as by looking at it I picture an all in one look and it is not at all how it worked. I can also see it being difficult to keep this product neat as the baked eyeshadows are quite raised and small and very close to one another, so with the fall out I can see this trio getting messy!

I would definitely recommend checking out the single eyeshadows, the trio for me however would be a total miss.

Do you own any bourjois?

  3. haha, yes, most of the time, the trio/quads don't have as good textures as the singles.

I am not a big fan of Bourjois despite all the raves from the West. I have the single blush, and the new blush duo sculpting. Their gel foundation, mascara, nail polish, white kohl liner, liquid eyeliner. Most of which, I haven't opened.

But for the blush, I must say, I don't like it much. =)

  4. Hey jyoan, I will admit I am yet to use the products properly... I just really enjoy my high end things :-( a curse I know but I would rather save and sacrifice for ysl, Chanel etc than have a tonne of budget products.
I really haven't given them a try though!
